Mary Michael Pilgrims Way

I came across the Mary Michael Pilgrims Way website today, via a flyer about the Network of Ley Hunters newsletter that Bart (from West Cornwall Dowsers) had handed to David on Sunday when they were dowsing Caer Bran Hill Fort – while I was creating artists posters!  It is just what I have been searching for.

I have signed up for the Ley Hunters newsletters and bought a copy of part of the route already ‘mapped’ from Brentor to Glastonbury, that Paul Broadhurst and Hamish Miller had identified in their book, The Sun and the Serpent.  I then sent this email to marymichaelpilgrimsway.org whose base is in Chagford, Devon (Dartmoor).

Hi!
I am an artist currently living in Cornwall and have this absurd idea that I would like to follow the Mary / Michael Lines in a creative quest – on horseback! The thought just won’t go away. I don’t even have a suitable mount yet and my life is in a bit of a state of flux just at the moment. My question is this: knowing the route, how ‘doable’ do you think it would be on horseback?
With very best wishes for your venture in ‘mapping’ the route for future pilgrims.
